Statistics of illegal logging of timber for the first half of 2025
The Department of Security of the State Enterprise 'Forests of Ukraine' has published data on illegal logging for the first half of 2025. Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, and Mykolaiv regions have distinguished themselves with the least amount of illegal logging. However, more than half of all violations were recorded in Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions. This was reported by the publication 'Glavkom' with reference to the State Enterprise 'Forests of Ukraine.'
Regions with the least number of violations
The branches of the 'Southern Forestry Office' in Odesa, Mykolaiv, Ternopil, and Khmelnytskyi regions reported minimal violations. The overall damage in these regions remains at a low level.
At the same time, half of all illegal logging occurs in Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions. State enterprises from the liberated territories in Kharkiv have joined the State Enterprise 'Forests of Ukraine' and significant violations have been identified, which have been referred for investigation.
The presented statistics of illegal logging of timber for the first half of 2025 show that in certain regions of Ukraine, the situation is better controlled than in others. However, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk remain leaders in the number of violations, which draws the attention of government structures to the problem of logging in these regions.
