Ukraine wins in the qualification for the 2027 World Cup: the team achieved its second victory.
The situation with Nikola Topic
According to inkorr.com: General manager of the 'Oklahoma' team, Sam Presti, announced that Serbian basketball player Nikola Topic has been diagnosed with testicular cancer. Doctors have already started a course of chemotherapy, but it is currently unknown when he will be able to return to the game.
Topic is only 20 years old. He was selected in the 2024 NBA draft as the 12th pick for 'Oklahoma'. This season, he missed several games due to a torn ACL injury, but despite this, he received the NBA championship title without playing a single game in the regular season.
'This is primarily a team of people, and only then of basketball players. People go through various stages in their lives and careers. He is truly a special guy. I think everyone on his team will confirm this. He is more mature than anyone I know at his age to look at things and approach them with the right mindset. I think he will manage', - said Presti.
Successes of the Ukrainian national team
The men's basketball team of Ukraine achieved victory in the pre-qualification for the 2027 World Cup, defeating Slovakia with a score of 98:86. This is already the second victory for Ukrainians in Group D, improving their tournament standings at this stage of the competition.
The team is demonstrating impressive results and strengthening its position in Group D. At the same time, the news of Nikola Topic's severe illness was a shock to basketball fans, urging them to support the player and wish him a speedy recovery. This situation once again emphasizes the importance of supporting athletes not only on the court but also in difficult life moments.
