A trial will be held in Germany for a Russian accused of murdering Ukrainian soldiers.
In Germany, charges have been filed against a 57-year-old Russian in connection with the murder of two Ukrainian servicemen. This was reported by Deutsche Welle.
The Russian has been living in Germany since the early 1990s. According to the investigation, in April he killed two Ukrainian servicemen - aged 23 and 36, who came to the country for treatment after being wounded on the front.
It was established that the accused and the Ukrainian servicemen were acquaintances. They were drinking together, and an argument ensued over the situation in Ukraine. According to reports, the Ukrainians "were drunk and did not suspect ill intentions".
The Russian allegedly "felt insulted in his national pride". Investigators stated that he was "a supporter of Russian nationalism, which manifested in support of the Russian aggressive war against Ukraine".
The Russian then left his apartment with a knife and stabbed one of the Ukrainians in the throat several times, resulting in his immediate death. After this, he attacked another Ukrainian, who later died in the hospital from his wounds.
The prosecution believes the murder was committed out of principle and hatred. The Russian is now in pre-trial detention in Stadelheim prison.
Meanwhile, the German police are asking for help in the search for the missing Ukrainian Yulia Brendel from Augsburg.
This spring in Italy, a 33-year-old Ukrainian, Marta-Maria Ogryzko, was found dead near a cliff. Her 41-year-old Russian partner was arrested on charges of mistreating her. Furthermore, the woman's body had injuries from the fall as well as signs of assault.
It is noted that the Ukrainian fell from a cliff from a height of about two meters and, unable to move, reached out to her Russian partner for help by sending messages through Whatsapp and calling him, but he ignored her pleas. The woman was found dead the next morning after spending the entire night in the bushes.
Also, a suspect in the murder case of a nine-year-old Ukrainian girl Valeria in Germany was detained in Prague.
