In Germany, the referee awarded two quirky penalties as players forgot the rules of football.
In the 8th round of the Second German Bundesliga, a strange event occurred. An unusual situation took place in the match between "Magdeburg" and "Greuther".
"Greuther" defender Gideon Jung decided to pick up the ball with his hands after a pass from his goalkeeper to take a free kick himself. But the ball was still in play, and the referee awarded a penalty.

The home team failed to convert the penalty but managed to score a goal after a rebound.
In the second half, there was also a penalty situation. "Magdeburg" defender picked up the ball after a teammate's foul without waiting for the referee's decision and received a penalty.
I thought the game would stop, so I picked up the ball - comments the defender. - But the referee awarded a penalty, not a free kick. It was my mistake, and I apologize to the team.
The game ended with a score of 2:2.
"Magdeburg" has not lost in 8 rounds and is in second place in the standings. "Greuther Furth" is in 10th position, failing to win in four consecutive rounds.
Recall that former Russian youth team player Timur Osmolovskyi was eliminated by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was reported by the Valaamskaya Monastery farming enterprise "Valaamskaya Ferma".
Osmolovskyi played for various clubs, including the youth team of "Akhmat" and Moscow "Spartak". He also played for the Russian youth team.
According to "Valaamskaya Ferma", Osmolovskyi was eliminated on September 25 as a result of a drone attack.
