Ukraine is developing its own air defense complex and the 'Oreshnik' missile system as a deterrent. This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syryskyi.

According to him, Ukraine has the potential to create these systems. Work is currently underway to establish a domestic air defense complex. Syryskyi hopes that the new system will be no worse than the American Patriot.

'We developed all management systems for anti-aircraft missile complexes back in Soviet times,' he said.

The Commander-in-Chief noted that Russian experimental missiles are dangerous and only a few air defense systems can intercept them. Therefore, Ukraine must do everything possible to have its own system. He also emphasized the need for active negotiations with partners to obtain the appropriate complex.

'I hope that we will soon achieve the desired result,' he concluded.

It is worth reminding that Russia used an experimental medium-range missile during the attack on Dnipro. It is known that the country has only a few such missiles. The US warned Ukraine and other countries about the possible use of these missiles.

The use of the 'Oreshnik' missile is a response to US plans to deploy missiles in Europe and the Asian region. However, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin, these missiles do not have nuclear warheads.

Putin stated that there are no means to counter the 'Oreshnik' missiles. The speed of these missiles is 10 Mach, equivalent to 2.5-3 km/s.

Analysts published photos of the wreckage of a shell with a serial number and production date of April 12, 2017.
