Ukraine – Venezuela: where to watch the broadcast of the Futsal World Cup quarterfinal match.

Today, September 29, the Ukraine futsal team will play against Venezuela in the quarterfinal match of the Futsal World Cup. The match starts at 18:00 Kyiv Time.

The Ukraine – Venezuela game will be broadcast live on local channels of Public Broadcasting (Public Kyiv, Public Kherson, etc.), as well as on the Public Sports TV channel and YouTube channel.

It is worth noting that Venezuela defeated the tournament favorite, the Spanish team, with a score of 2:1 in the 1/8 final.

Venezuela set a new national record in the World Cup – it will play in the quarterfinals for the first time. Previously, the team reached the 1/8 final stage only once – at their debut World Cup in 2021.

On the other hand, Spain will not play in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in its new format (since 2012) for the first time. Since then, the team has reached the quarterfinals in three consecutive championships and has also won silver twice (2012).

Ukraine can also match a national record if they defeat Venezuela. Previously, our team reached this stage only once: in their first tournament in 1996, where they placed fourth.

As reported, the Ukraine futsal team started with a victory in the 2024 World Cup playoffs. The Blue-Yellows defeated the Netherlands.

In the sixth minute of the first half, the Ukraine team opened the scoring. Mykhailo Zvarych put the ball into the empty net after an assist from Daniil Abakshin. The Netherlands responded sharply towards the end of the 20-minute mark – the post saved Ukraine from a conceded goal.

In the second half, the Netherlands equalized the score. In response, the Blue-Yellows needed only two minutes to take the lead again. Shortly after coming off the bench, Andrii Melnyk scored with a sharp-angle shot – 2:1.

Melnyk set the final score in the last minute of regulation time – he scored during a goalkeeper change, secured a double, and completed a 3:1 victory.

Recall that the Ukraine futsal team achieved their first victory at the Futsal World Cup. In the second round, the Ukrainians routed the Angola team – 7:2.

On September 21, the national Ukraine futsal team achieved their second victory at the World Cup, defeating the Afghanistan team with a score of 4:1. This result guaranteed the Blue-Yellows a place in the tournament playoffs.
