Ukrainian Petrakov lost the position of head coach of the Armenia national team.
Ukrainian coach Oleksandr Petrakov was dismissed from the position of head coach of the Armenia national team following the defeat in the Nations League match against North Macedonia.
Under Petrakov's leadership, the Armenia national team played 18 matches, winning only 4 of them. The team also failed to qualify for the 2024 European Championship.
Oleksandr Petrakov previously led the Ukrainian youth teams and the Ukraine national team. With the youth team, he won the World Championship in 2019.
The Ukraine national team under Petrakov's guidance took second place in the qualifying group for the 2022 World Cup and reached the playoffs. However, they did not qualify for the World Cup.
Ukraine achieved an important victory over Georgia with a score of 1:0. The only goal was scored by Mykhailo Mudryk. After this, Ukraine continued to dominate, and goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin maintained a "clean sheet".
This victory brought Ukraine the first points in the group.
After three matches, the Ukraine national team occupies the last place in its group, having gained three points only after the last match.
