The National Antarctic Scientific Center published a video showing the first seal pup born near the "Vernadsky" research station. The baby gently snuggles up to its mother and interacts with her. Another seal was also born near the station, but it will be discussed separately.
Scientists talked about a contest for the best name for the first seal pup. Ukrainians had the opportunity to submit their suggestions in the comments until September 22.
Scientists also published a video where you can hear the "conversation" of ice in the ocean. They explained that this is a unique phenomenon. During observations of penguins, one of the biologists encountered rare sea elephants and managed to capture this meeting on video.
