According to inkorr.com: Ukrainian divers amazed with their results at the 12th international tournament Ulla Klinger Cup 2025, which took place in Aachen, Germany.

More than 60 athletes from 8 countries participated in the competition. Ukraine was represented by two talented divers from Zaporizhzhia: Yana Hovtyan and Sofia Shinkarenko:

  • "Gold": Sofia Shinkarenko (platform, group A (16-18 years).
  • "Gold": Yana Hovtyan (1m springboard, open group).
  • "Gold": Yana Hovtyan (1m springboard, group A).
  • "Bronze": Sofia Shinkarenko (1m springboard, group A).

After the success at the tournament, Ukraine entered the top 10 in the overall medal standings of the European Youth Olympic Festival, taking 10th place with 23 medals.

Success at the World Summer Universiade

Our athletes showed one of the best performances in history at the World Summer Universiade, winning 12 medals in 2025. Previously, in 2019, the Ukrainian team achieved its highest result, earning 25 awards.

On the final day of the competition, Ukrainian athlete Mykola Rushchak from Sumy won bronze in the 20-kilometer race walk, adding another medal to the team's achievements. As a result, Ukraine ranked 14th in the overall medal standings.

Thus, the results of Ukrainian athletes at prestigious international competitions confirm the growing level of training and the talent of Ukrainian sports youth. Successful performances at such tournaments can provide an additional impetus for the development of sports in Ukraine and motivation for new generations of athletes.
