The European Championship in classical chess among boys and girls took place in Budva (Montenegro), where 35 chess players from Ukraine participated.
New champions
Myron Netrebko from Dnipro took first place in the under-8 category, earning a maximum of 9 points out of 9. Daria Kravchuk from Bucha also performed successfully, winning in the under-10 category with 8 points.
It should be noted that Ukraine ranked 10th in the overall medal standings of the European Youth Olympic Festival, winning 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals.
This performance became the second best in the history of Ukraine at the festivals held since 1993. Our 'blue-yellow' team only won more medals in 2019, when they received 25 awards.
