In the city of Odesa, a 43-year-old man set fire to a truck because it prevented him from enjoying the view from his first-floor apartment. This was reported by the police of the Odesa region.
The incident occurred a few days ago on Marselska Street near apartment buildings. A Volvo truck with a tanker was parked there. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, and the expert assessment determined that the cause of the fire was malicious intent.
According to the police investigation, the man responsible for the arson lives nearby. He admitted that he decided to set the truck on fire because it obstructed his view from his first-floor apartment. During a search of his home, a gasoline canister was found, which he had purchased for the arson.
The suspect faces punishment for intentional damage to someone else's property by arson. For this crime, he could face up to 10 years in prison. An investigation is currently underway at the Suvorov District Prosecutor's Office.
Preventive measure chosen for the suspect in a fatal traffic accident in Lviv region
A large-scale accident occurred near the city of Lviv, resulting in the deaths of seven people. The suspect, accused of causing the fatal accident in Lviv region, has been assigned a preventive measure.
The person, who resides in the Lviv district and is 24 years old, has been charged with violating traffic rules while intoxicated, which led to the deaths of several people (Part 4, Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He will be held in custody without the right to bail.
Additionally, a 31-year-old passenger of the vehicle is accused of failing to provide assistance to victims who were in life-threatening conditions and not reporting it to the appropriate authorities, which resulted in their deaths (Part 3, Article 136 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He will also be held in custody with the right to bail.
It is noted that in Odesa region, a traffic accident occurred at a checkpoint, resulting in injuries to a national guard soldier. The driver of a Ford vehicle, a 51-year-old man, collided with a Honda vehicle driven by a 21-year-old driver when he stopped to provide documents to the soldier of the National Guard. As a result of the impact, the Ford veered off to the side and hit the guard, leading to a collision.
