Venezuela Responds to the US with Fighter Jets Flying Over a Ship in the Caribbean Sea

According to inkorr.com: Two Venezuelan military aircraft flew over an American ship in the Caribbean Sea, leading to a new escalation of tension between the countries. According to the Pentagon, this maneuver was in response to a US attack on a speedboat, which, according to the American side, was carrying drugs.

“This extremely provocative maneuver was aimed at hindering our drug policy operations,” the Pentagon stated.

After the US attack on the vessel, which reportedly transported drugs from Venezuela, all 11 people on board were killed. This incident caused outrage not only within the country but also beyond its borders due to the loss of civilian lives. In response to the situation, the US dispatched several ships to the Caribbean Sea to combat drug trafficking.

Mobilization of Military Reservists in Venezuela

On the same day that the aircraft flew, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro called for military reservists and police officers to join local military units. This incident occurred after Secretary of State Mike Rubio's visit to Ecuador, where he confirmed support for the aggressive US policy towards Venezuela. Rubio emphasized America’s readiness for further military actions against the country.

Thus, following the attack on the speedboat, Venezuela carried out a provocative flight of aircraft over the American ship, causing a new escalation of conflict between the states and mobilization of military reservists in Venezuela.

This incident further complicates the existing tense relations between the US and Venezuela, highlighting how the situation in the region can escalate quickly. The mobilization of reservists and strengthening of military presence may indicate Venezuela’s readiness to continue confrontation.
