Don’t Let the World Look Away: Russia Benefits If Ukraine Fades from Headlines, Warns Top Ukrainian Official.
Ukraine’s Call for Continued Global Attention Amid Rising Middle East Tensions
According to Novyny.live: Iryna Vereshchuk, deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, has stressed that the world must not lose focus on the war in Ukraine, even as the situation in the Middle East escalates. She argued that Russia stands to gain if international attention shifts elsewhere.
“Ukraine must remain at the top of the news. No one should forget that there is a war in Europe, in the heart of Europe. We must keep saying that Russia must be stopped,” Vereshchuk stated.
Global Reactions to Ukraine’s Role
In light of these developments, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the deployment of Ukrainian specialists to Middle Eastern countries. He clarified that Ukraine is not at war with Iran, but rather responded to a request from the United States and several Gulf nations for assistance—particularly in countering drone threats. This indicates that the international community still values cooperation with Ukraine, despite competing global crises.
At the same time, former U.S. President Donald Trump has argued that America does not need Ukraine’s help to defend against drones in the Middle East. His comments highlight differing perspectives on Ukraine’s role in regional security.
Vereshchuk also emphasized the urgent need to stop Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying:
“Putin will not stop on his own. Putin must be stopped, and Russia must be held accountable—it must pay for all the damage it has inflicted on Ukraine and its people.”
As a result, the war in Ukraine remains a pressing issue on the global stage. Ukrainian officials continue to urge the world not to forget the conflict unfolding in the center of Europe. With other crises intensifying—especially in the Middle East—it is critical that the international community does not lose sight of Ukraine, whose stability is vital for security both in the region and beyond. Key global players must factor this into their foreign policy and security strategies.
