This was reported by 'Glavkom', referring to 'Public Broadcasting', which is responsible for organizing the contest in Ukraine.

“According to the winner of Eurovision 2016 Jamala, the organizers of the National Selection are looking for a unique artist. Applications can be submitted through the form.”
According to the rules of the National Selection, artists who have performed in Russia since 2014 and in Belarus since 2022 cannot participate in the competition. This restriction excludes many well-known performers from the possibility of submitting their applications.
Requirements and conditions for participation in the National Selection
Among the requirements, artists who plan to participate in the National Selection must be at least 16 years old by May 3, 2026. They also cannot participate in the competitions held by other Eurovision participating countries. After the audition, which will take place before December 15, a list of finalists will be formed, which will include up to 9 performers.
Among the 15 artists who made it to the longlist but will not make it to the final, there will be an online voting that will determine one more finalist. The final event of the National Selection is scheduled for February 2026. As in previous years, the winner will be chosen based on the voting of the jury and the audience.
The National selection for Eurovision-2026 has begun, and artists have a great opportunity to represent Ukraine at the international competition. The conditions for participation are strictly regulated, including selection criteria aimed at identifying the best performers for the competition for victory in the National Selection and at Eurovision. An important requirement is not only age but also the absence of performances in certain territories, which are relevant in the context of modern politics. These rules create a clear and fair selection process for all participants.
