A military officer assessed how the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing for defense in the Pokrovsk direction.
Ukrainian military is preparing for battles in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, but the preparation has turned out to be significantly better than before. This was reported by a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yevhen Iyevliev.
'Unfortunately, everything is pointing towards battles for Pokrovsk. I hope my eyes are seeing correctly and that there are things I do not see that will allow us to hold Pokrovsk and other localities for as long as possible,' Iyevliev said.
According to him, Ukrainian defenders and command have done serious work on mistakes in defense.
'The preparation of defense around Myrnohrad and Pokrovsk has improved significantly compared to previous years,' the military explained.
He noted that building fortifications is increasingly relying on presidential verticals of power and military administrations.
'The work done a year ago and what is being carried out now has excellent quality. It is necessary to combine the needs of the infantry with the construction of fortifications. Unfortunately, everyone knows that there is not enough infantry, there is even a certain deficit,' Iyevliev added.
According to him, high-quality and well-developed defense structures make it easier to deter the enemy in conditions of infantry shortage.
'Regardless of whether we hold the enemy in dug trenches or in prepared positions with concrete, forest, and deep immersion, I can say that I have positive expectations regarding our ability to hold the enemy at the approaches to Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and other cities, as well as on every square meter of Ukraine,' the military emphasized.
