Introducing the Track 'Trembita Knows'

According to Novyny.live: Vlad Darwin and Serhiy Lazanovsky have released a joint single titled 'Trembita Knows,' inspired by a iconic Carpathian symbol and musical instrument. The song emerged from a long-term collaboration between the two artists and incorporates elements of Ukrainian-Romani musical motifs. The idea for the track first took shape in 2020, following Darwin's trip to Verkhovyna, where he met Hutsul musician Roman Kumlyk.

Creative Process and Challenges

The making of the song was not without its obstacles. Vlad Darwin contracted COVID-19 while working on the composition.

“For the first time in my life, I was that sick. I caught the coronavirus after playing the trembita with other museum visitors,”
he recalled, describing his ordeal during the illness. Despite these setbacks, the artists pushed forward with the project.

The final arrangement was crafted by Mykhailo Melkumyan and Hennadiy Bondar. The music video was directed by Danylo Demekhin, with filming taking two full days in the scenic Carpathian mountains. Serhiy Lazanovsky also shared his thoughts:

“When I first heard 'Trembita Knows,' I immediately felt its incredible energy.”
Vlad Darwin added: “For me, this work is both tragic and fiery. That is exactly the sound of the trembita.”

Ultimately, 'Trembita Knows' not only showcases the joint effort of two talented musicians but also stands as a symbol of resilience and creativity in the face of life's challenges. The track highlights the importance of Ukraine's cultural heritage—particularly Hutsul music—in a modern context, and demonstrates how artists can find inspiration even under difficult circumstances.
