The enemy failed to gain a foothold on the left bank of the Oskil River - military.
Aviation on the Kharkiv front direction
On the Kharkiv front direction, Russian forces are actively using aviation, but the initiative remains with the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The situation is more complex in the Kupiansk direction; the enemy failed to gain a foothold on the left bank of the Oskil River before the start of this month.
"We continue to fulfill our duty in two directions. The first is the settlement of Hlyboke, where the shortest distance from the line of combat confrontation to the administrative borders of the city of Kharkiv is located. Today the Defense Forces fully control the situation. They promptly determine where the enemy is located, what his plans are, what he will do, and how. Through the combined efforts of several brigades holding positions in the Kharkiv direction, it is possible to strike the enemy and prevent him from achieving success on the battlefield. Today we can say that the initiative is fully in the hands of the Defense Forces," Fedorenko noted.
However, the military mentioned there are problematic issues, namely the enemy's ability to use aviation and attack the city of Kharkiv and civilian objects.
"The enemy is actively using aviation and other means that allow it to strike at considerable distances. It is very important for Ukraine to obtain the authorization and nomenclature of the necessary missiles for delivering strikes on military targets on the territory of the Russian Federation. This also concerns nearer base airfields. It is fundamentally important to minimize the enemy's ability to use its aviation," Fedorenko emphasized.
The situation in the Kupiansk direction is more complex, but the enemy did not manage to complete their task.
"The enemy had a clearly defined task to secure a foothold on the left bank of the Oskil River by the start of the month, but they failed to do so. This is because the Ukrainian nation continues to provide maximum support to the Defense Forces with everything possible. This includes both donations and the provision of necessary items people can gather: camouflage nets, means to heat the fighters' positions, electronic warfare systems. This is also the assistance of our partners who provide necessary weaponry," Fedorenko said.
Ukrainian Defense Forces are receiving more means of destruction, particularly drones, which help to identify enemy initiatives and effectively counter them.
"Accordingly, we see the enemy quite well, and can destroy them through combined firepower. This is artillery plus drones," Fedorenko said.
However, achieving parity with the enemy in artillery firepower has not yet been achieved.
"We rely on our diplomats, on our partners. We believe that we will have the necessary resources to fully stop the enemy and prevent him from occupying the left-bank Kupiansk region," Fedorenko concluded.
