President of Ukraine and Prime Minister of Poland Held a Joint Press Conference

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk held a joint press conference during Zelensky's official visit to Poland. According to the report from the President's Office, both leaders discussed issues of Ukraine's independence, cooperation between the two countries, and other current topics.

During the press conference, Zelensky stated that Ukraine and Poland are interdependent, and Ukraine's independence also means Poland's and all of Europe's independence. He also noted that in 2026 there will be a conference on Ukraine's recovery in Poland, which will become an important partner for Ukraine in implementing this process.

Zelensky also announced plans for a meeting with newly elected US President Donald Trump after the inauguration. He expressed support for the concept of 'peace through strength' and joint work with the European Union on new sanctions against Russia.

The President also emphasized the significance of the Ukrainian army and noted that around 600,000 Russian soldiers are on Ukrainian territory. He highlighted the importance of the defense industry and emphasized that Ukraine produces more drones than Russia.

Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk expressed support for Ukraine and underscored his country's readiness to assist it in the war. He also noted that Poland would promote Ukraine's integration into the European Union and aid in the country's recovery process.

The draft of the remaining new EU sanctions against Russia, as well as the meeting of leaders on security in the Baltic Sea and Russia's plans to carry out terrorist acts against airlines, were also subjects of discussion.
