The club, located in Brentwood, was previously owned by the late 'Towie' star Mick Norcross. The club recently became the subject of major discussions following allegations from former cast member, bartender Candy, of falsifications.
Candy claimed that she never actually worked at the club and that she was 'axed' by 'Towie' producers when she refused to hook up with a cast member, likely Mark Wright.
“Towie has always followed real people and their real lives, and we are grateful to the cast for sharing their lives and emotions with our audience for 15 years,” said an ITV representative.
In its heyday, when 'Towie' was just starting, Sugar Hut became a tourist destination and hosted numerous famous guests, including 'Baywatch' star Pamela Anderson.
Mick, unfortunately, took his own life in January 2021, selling the club in 2019 for an undisclosed amount, after stating that he did not want his establishment associated with 'Towie'.
“My club is an elite place where people come to drink champagne and feel special,” he said in 2013.
“All those arguments they keep filming do not show the club in a good light, and I am worried it will deter people from visiting, which I definitely do not want.”
It's worth mentioning the VIPs who visited Sugar Hut, and the scandals and epic parties that took place in this legendary club.
Paid Parties
Sugar Hut opened its doors in 2004 and quickly became known as a glamorous oasis in Brentwood thanks to its 'hen parties'.
These charming girls were invited to parties with Mick and other stars and sometimes became celebrities themselves.

Before appearing in the first season of 'Love Island' in 2015, Hannah Elizabeth worked at parties at Sugar Hut.
“We had only 12, and we were just paid for parties,” she said.
Love Triangle Drama
The relationship between Lauren Goodger and Mark Wright was a major theme in the first season of 'TOWIE'.
The pair split in 2012, but beforehand, Lauren was deeply hurt when she saw Mark flirting with Sam Faiers at Sugar Hut on his birthday.
“I am still sleeping with Mark, and he told me he still loves me,” Lauren was outraged.
Her popularity soared due to the scandals surrounding Sugar Hut.

“Lauren is outraged by the allegations made against her as she feels it is just an attempt to hit the headlines,” said a source.

After Mick's death in 2021, it was revealed that he allowed a pornographic film about Towie, titled 'The Only Way Is Es(Sex)', to be filmed at Sugar Hut.
In the film, actors Stacey Lacey and Kai Taylor engaged in sexual acts on a sofa, behind which the recognizable TOWIE logo is visible.
Mick received a “substantial fee” from Television X to cover his debts, which reportedly reached up to £8.5 million.
“We parodied Towie with stars who really know how to bring an element of sex to Essex,” noted the production company.

Sam Faiers, 34, is now in a relationship with Paul Knightley and raising three children. But in 2013, she was kicked out of Sugar Hut due to Joey Essex's fight with Olympian Ashley McKenzie.
Joey's representative stated it was a “minor disagreement” but that there was no physical violence.

Sugar Hut has not only become a setting for reality shows but also attracted stars, including football legends Frank Lampard and Teddy Sheringham.
However, no one could surpass the charm of Pamela Anderson, who surprised guests with her unexpected visit in 2012.
“It was my 18th birthday, and we were celebrating at Sugar Hut with Jack Whitehall,” shared Charlie Verneham, star of 'Bad Education'.

Refusing someone entry always draws attention. In a 2013 episode of 'Towie', Danny Park-Dempsey and Mick did not let a self-proclaimed diva into a Halloween party at Sugar Hut.
“It’s just unfair! He can’t treat me like that. It’s just ridiculous,” Gemma was outraged.
