WSJ revealed Trump's unexpected plans regarding China.
According to The Wall Street Journal, former U.S. President Donald Trump plans to visit China within the first 100 days after his inauguration. The main goal of his visit will be to strengthen personal ties with Chinese leader Xi Jinping before the possible introduction of high tariffs on Chinese imports.
The decision about the trip has not yet been finalized, and Trump's team refused to comment on this information.
However, sources working in Beijing confirmed that the possibility of a personal meeting between Trump and Xi is of interest to China's leadership itself. There is also a consideration for inviting the Chinese leader to the U.S.
Earlier, Trump confirmed a phone conversation with the Chinese leader through representatives.

After the conversation with the head of China, elected President Donald Trump informed his advisors about his intention to visit China after taking office. During this conversation, issues related to trade, fentanyl problems, and the TikTok situation were discussed.
It is also worth noting that American companies have begun actively purchasing goods from China due to the threat of tariff imposition on Chinese imports. In December, exports from China to the U.S. reached a record level of $48.8 billion.
Discussions in Chinese social media were sparked by Trump's statements about Greenland, especially their connection to Taiwan. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs dismissed such attempts to link the status of Greenland to Taiwan as 'absurd.'
The value of the Chinese yuan has fallen to a 16-month low due to fears of a sharp increase in tariffs that may be imposed after Trump takes office.
