Xi Jinping - the current General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China since 2012, Chairman of the People's Republic of China since 2013, as well as Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the CPC.

Place of Birth. Education. Born in Fuping County, Shaanxi Province, on June 15 (according to other sources, June 1) 1953. His father, Xi Zhongsun (1913-2002), was one of Mao Zedong's closest associates and held high offices in the state after the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, including Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC and Governor of Guangdong Province. Due to his background, Xi Jinping belongs to the so-called 'princelings' - descendants of prominent Chinese Party leaders.

Xi Jinping's childhood was affluent. However, in 1962, his father was accused of an anti-party conspiracy, exiled from Beijing to Henan Province in 1965, and imprisoned during the years of the 'Cultural Revolution' (1966-1976). In 1969, young Xi was sent to 're-education through labor' in one of the poorest provinces of China, Shaanxi, where he lived under very modest conditions for almost seven years. According to reports, this shaped Xi's image as someone who understands the needs of the common Chinese citizen.

1979 - Graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry and Technology at the prestigious Tsinghua University in Beijing, later served as Secretary in the Secretariat of the State Council and the Central Military Commission until 1982.

1998-2002 - Studied at the Graduate School of Tsinghua University specializing in 'Marxist Theory and Ideological Education'. He earned a doctorate in law.

Career

In 1971, Xi Jinping was invited by the Communist Youth and joined the Communist Party of China in January 1974, despite his father still being in prison. He became Secretary of the Rural Party Organization.

1982 - Secretary of Defense Minister General Qi Baoyi. In the same year, he requested a transfer to the province and became Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee in Uyuta Zhendin in Hebei Province.

1983 - Secretary of the CPC Committee in Zhendin District, first political commissioner of the People's Armed Militia.

1985 - Vice Mayor of Xiamen City in Fujian Province, a member of the Standing Committee of the City CPC Committee.

1988 - Secretary of the CPC Committee in Nind District in Fujian Province, first secretary of the Nind Military District of the People's Liberation Army of China.

1990-1996 - Secretary of the City CPC Committee in Fuzhou, 1990-1995 - Chairman of the Standing Committee of the City People's Congress.

1995-2002 - Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and first military commissioner of Fujian Province.

1998-2003 - Deputy of the IX All-China People's Assembly.

1999 - appointed acting governor of Fujian Province, elected governor of Fujian Province from 2000 to 2002.

From 2002 - member of the CPC Central Committee of the 16th Congress.

2002-2003 - acting governor of Zhou Province.

2003-2007 - transitioned to the XIX Congress of the People's Congress. Concurrently served as Deputy (2002) and then Secretary of the CPC Committee (2002-2007) and Chairman of the National Committee for the Military Mobilization of the Province, first deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the provincial forces ccfm. Since March 14, 2013 - due to a vote at the first session of the XII National People's Congress of China, Xi Jinping was elected President of the People's Republic of China, he also heads the Central Military Commission of China.

On March 11, 2018, a constitutional amendment was adopted at the annual session of the National People's Congress in Beijing, allowing Xi Jinping to remain in office as president indefinitely.

On March 19, 2018, Xi Jinping was re-elected Chairman of the People's Republic of China for a second term at the National People's Congress.

Family

In the first half of the 1980s, Xi Jinping was married to the daughter of the Chinese envoy to Great Britain.
