YouTube integrates NFTs and the metaverse into the platform for content monetization.
The YouTube platform is considering the use of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to monetize its own content, such as videos, photos, and other artworks.
NFT is a non-fungible or unique token that operates on the blockchain. They were first introduced in 2017 on the Ethereum platform.
By leveraging Web3 and technologies such as blockchain and NFTs, bloggers will have the opportunity to build stronger connections with their fans. Together, they will be able to work on new projects and earn money using tools that were previously unavailable.
In 2021, over 2 million users joined the YouTube partner program.
YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki previously talked about plans to integrate NFTs into the platform. She also emphasized that the company wants to expand its ecosystem and help bloggers benefit from new technologies.
