“Keep Ishkulov as brigade commander!” Commanders of the 80th brigade appealed to Zelensky and Syrsky.
Commanders of the airborne assault battalions of the 80th Galician Brigade appealed to the President of Ukraine, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Volodymyr Zelensky, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky, and Commander of the Air Assault Forces Ihor Skybyuk with a request not to remove brigade commander Emili Ishkulov.
In the appeal, the commanders of the 0th Galician Brigade stated that the brigade is led by a professional military officer, paratrooper officer, Colonel Emili Ishkulov, who has gone through all command levels, knows what it means to lead people, including behind enemy lines, knows what captivity is and has numerous awards.
“This is a commander who meticulously plans all operations, for whom the life of each of us is a top priority. This is a professional military officer who understands the modern battlefield and adequately responds to the challenges of the Russian-Ukrainian war,” the commanders stated.
The brigade expressed their lack of understanding, “why commanders, who enjoy unquestionable authority among the personnel, who have a heroic combat path and experience of a major war – are unfavorable to the top leadership of the Armed Forces, as they are not afraid to voice problematic issues and report the real state of affairs, do not whitewash the situation and do not senselessly sacrifice people on their way to promotions and orders.”
Ishkulov was appointed brigade commander of the 80th Brigade at the end of 2022. He has been fighting since 2014, when he was a reconnaissance platoon commander in the 25th Airborne Brigade.
Earlier, information appeared that Ishkulov might be dismissed because he refused to carry out a task that was disproportionate to the forces of the brigade he commands.
Let us recall that the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the instructions of the Commander-in-Chief Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, have completed the development and started the implementation of a comprehensive action program “Preservation of Life of Military Personnel.”
The “Preservation of Life of Military Personnel” program is a universal system for each unit, the key priority of which is the preservation of the lives of our warriors.
