An assassination attempt on Trump may boost his election campaign — The Hill.
Republican lawmakers believe that a new attack on former President Donald Trump could help his election campaign, mobilize voters, and force Democrats into a defensive position regarding their concerns about the threat to democracy they see in Trump's re-election. This information is provided by The Hill.
"I think people will rally to Trump's side. He is surrounded on many fronts," said Senator Lindsey Graham (Republican Party).
Another Republican senator, who wished to remain anonymous, predicts that the attack on Trump is aimed at uniting voters. He adds that independent voters are likely to see Trump as a "victim."
"Republican lawmakers view the recent incident as an opportunity for Trump to change the dynamics of the presidential race a week after many of them were disappointed by his sole debate against Harris," the newspaper notes.
