Gold for the Ukrainian national team at the European Championship in Horting
According to inkorr.com: The Ukrainian national team won a gold medal in the team standings at the European Championship in Horting, held in Rome. With a team of 36 athletes, Ukraine earned 50 medals in three categories: duel, form, and demonstration performance.
365 athletes from 19 countries participated in the competitions. Italy's team took second place, while France's team finished in third place. The Ukrainian team also ranked in the top 10 of the overall medal standings of the European Youth Olympic Festival, winning 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals.
This is the second most successful performance of Ukraine in the entire history of participation in the Festivals since 1993! The 'blue-yellow' team has only won more medals in 2019 – then there were 25 awards.
Ukraine received the most medals in judo, winning six awards, including a bronze in the mixed team tournament. The overall success was also contributed by athletes in swimming, athletics, taekwondo, shooting, artistic gymnastics, and table tennis.
Not long ago, the World Summer Universiade in Germany concluded, where Ukrainian athletes won 12 medals: 4 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze.
Therefore, Ukrainian athletes demonstrated impressive results at the European Championship in Horting and the European Youth Olympic Festival. Gold in Rome and 50 medals, along with successes at the festival, testify to the high level of training and professionalism of Ukrainian athletes.
