Volodymyr Zelensky's Address on the 940th Day of War
On September 20, 2024, on the 940th day of the war, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation. In his speech, he emphasized the key points of government activities and plans for the future.
Zelensky reported on a meeting of the General Staff, where issues of the front, operations in the Kursk region, drone and missile production, as well as energy security, were discussed.
The President stressed the importance of the speed of actual production and supply, not just signing contracts and financing.
"This visit [of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen] has added significant support to Ukraine," said Zelensky.
The President announced a new aid package from the European Union for Ukrainian energy in the amount of 160 million euros and the achievement of agreements to increase electricity imports to Ukraine.
Zelensky also reported on preparations for talks in the United States, where he plans to meet with President Biden, representatives of both parties in Congress, and both US presidential candidates. The purpose of these meetings is to present a concrete plan to strengthen Ukraine in the war and move closer to a just peace.
"Ukraine is counting on this support. Very much. And it is fair. Because when one nation wins the battle for its independence and adherence to international law, the whole world wins. And that's exactly how it should be," the President emphasized in his address.
