The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, arrived at the White House in Washington, where he was greeted by President of the USA, Donald Trump. This was reported on February 28 by the spokesperson of the President of Ukraine, Serhiy Nikiforov.

The leaders of Ukraine and the USA shook hands at the entrance to the West Wing of the White House and posed for representatives of the press. After the official meeting, a joint press conference of the two presidents is planned.

An important visit of the Ukrainian president to the USA

During the visit, it is expected that an agreement on cooperation in the field of minerals will be signed.

Before meeting with the President of the USA, Volodymyr Zelensky held talks with a bipartisan delegation from the US Senate. In his message on social media, the Ukrainian president called his visit to America 'important'.

'The continuation of military assistance to our state and the relevant legislative initiatives, meeting with President Trump, efforts to achieve a fair and lasting peace, our vision of ending the war and the importance of reliable security guarantees became the main topics of our negotiations,'
Zelensky wrote.

The Ukrainian leader also expressed gratitude for the 'consistent bipartisan support for Ukraine throughout all three years of the full-scale Russian aggression.'
