President Volodymyr Zelensky explained the position of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Ukraine's accession to NATO.
He noted that Germany still treats this issue skeptically, but somewhat more softly. Zelensky noted that he has a good relationship with Scholz and expressed his gratitude for the assistance.
"Germany is the second country in terms of support. I say everything as I see it, not as it is convenient for someone else. But the fact that the German side is skeptical about our NATO membership is a fact... But regarding the invitation now, which I am telling you about, they are afraid of the NATO-Germany theme, concerning the reaction of the Russian Federation. The United States. That's what I mean," said the president.
Earlier, Zelensky spoke about what he agreed on with the head of the Pentagon, Austin.
