Russians attacked 6 regions of Ukraine at night: Zelensky urged partners to take action.
Russian troops attacked several cities in Ukraine on the night of August 20. Pavlograd in the Dnipropetrovsk region, Konstantinivka in the Donetsk region, and Akhtyrka in the Sumy region came under fire. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that these attacks are demonstrative strikes aimed at increasing pressure on Russia.
'During the drone strike in Akhtyrka in the Sumy region, 14 people were injured. A family with injured children - 5 months, 4 years, 6 years - sought help after the shelling. In Konstantinivka, Donetsk region, a KAB strike damaged five apartment buildings, and at least three people are still under the rubble. A rescue operation is underway,' Zelensky noted.
According to Zelensky, Russians also struck a gas distribution station in the Odesa region and shelled the Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions. In total, the enemies launched over 60 drones and ballistic missiles at civilian areas of Ukraine.
In Pavlograd, Dnipropetrovsk region, a transport enterprise was damaged as a result of the Russian troops' strike. The Nikopol district was also shelled, where FPV drones and artillery were used. An apartment building, two private houses, and a firefighting vehicle that burned down were damaged. Three houses were destroyed in the Synelnykovsky district.
'The need for new sanctions and tariffs, while diplomacy is not fully working, is necessary. I thank all partners who are helping to stop this Russian war. Together with the USA, Europe, and everyone who seeks peace, we work daily to ensure security. We need strong security guarantees to ensure truly reliable and lasting peace,' emphasized the head of the Ukrainian state.
On the night of August 20, Russia attacked Ukraine with two 'Iskander-M' ballistic missiles and launched 93 'Shahed' drones.
Ukraine has once again become a stage for hostile attacks, which have led to the first casualties and significant material losses. President Zelensky called for international unity in addressing the situation in Eastern Ukraine and emphasized the need for strong security guarantees to achieve peace in the region.
