Zelensky took an unexpected decision on transitioning to winter time.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky does not intend to sign the law, which provides for the cancellation of seasonal clock changes.
This is reported by "Hvylya", referring to sources in the president's team, reports BBC News Ukraine.
On the night of Sunday, October 27, Ukraine will transition to winter Time, which will mean setting the clocks back one hour. Under the new bill, this was supposed to be the last transition, as the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on the abolition of seasonal time changes.
However, the president has not yet signed this law and, according to sources, does not intend to do so.
"The president does not plan to sign it," claims a source in the OP.
Additionally, the deadlines for vetoing the law have already passed.
This is also confirmed by another source from BBC. According to him, this bill was proposed by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, and to not offend him, it will not be vetoed, but it will not be signed either.
It is also reported that during the discussion of this law, experts "calculated and saw the drawbacks for the economy - losses of several billion".
Earlier we reported when and how Ukraine will transition to winter time for the last time.
