Increase in pension supplements for fighters for independence
The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada has increased pension supplements for fighters for independence of the 20th century to 5.05 thousand hryvnias. The law providing for these payments came into effect in 2023. According to it, those who suffered from repression during the communist regime will receive an additional pension for special services to Ukraine.
In 2025, the amount of monthly supplement for fighters for independence increased to 5.05 thousand hryvnias after the indexing of these payments. Supporting documents are mandatory to receive this payment. If a person has several grounds for receiving the supplement, they receive it at the maximum amount according to the law.
Additional payments are an important step for supporting and honoring those who sacrificed for Ukraine's independence and suffered during the totalitarian regime.
Parliament has increased pension supplements for fighters for independence, remembering and recognizing the contributions of these individuals to Ukraine. This is another step in honoring the memory of the heroes who fought for the freedom of the country in the past.Read also
