The Women's National Team of Ukraine Defeated North Macedonia in the EuroBasket Qualifiers.
The Ukrainian national team crushed North Macedonia in the qualifiers for the Women's EuroBasket 2025. This information is reported by the Base of Ukrainian Sports.
Under the coaching of Yevhen Murzin, they started the second of three windows with a match against North Macedonia, the lowest-ranked team in group G. The goal for the Ukrainian women was clear - achieve an undeniable victory, as a loss would effectively eliminate Ukraine from the championship.
The Macedonians took the lead first, but their advantage lasted only 57 seconds. Then the Ukrainians began to execute their offense.
The victory for the Ukrainians was secured after the first two quarters with an identical score of 26:13. However, this did not stop our players, as they continued to fight and won the third quarter with a score of 27:7, and the fourth with a score of 14:11. The overall score was 98:49.
Among the top scorers for our team were Viktoria Balaban, who scored 19 points, Alina Yagupova with 17 points, and Miriame Uro-Nile with 16 points. Also notable was the performance of Tetyana Yurkievus, who had 9 points and 9 rebounds, and Daria Dubniuk with 8 points and 10 assists. Every player on the team scored points.
The next match for Ukraine will be against Serbia on November 10. In EuroBasket 2025, 8 group winners and the 4 best second-place teams will compete.
