AFU Regained Positions Near Chasiv Yar and Toretsk – ISW Report.
Ukrainian forces regained control over positions southeast of Chasiv Yar and in the southern part of Toretsk in Donetsk Oblast. The occupiers advanced east of Siversk and southeast of Pokrovsk. This information was provided by the analytical organization Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
AFU Operation in Russia
Ukrainian and Russian forces recorded movements in the main Ukrainian salient in the Kursk Oblast.
Geolocated footage published on October 25 indicates movement of Ukrainian forces west of Borok (southeast of Sudzha). Other geolocated images from the same day show that Russian troops took positions east of Obukhovka (southeast of Korenyovo).
Fighting continued on October 25 west of the main Ukrainian salient in Kursk Oblast, but no changes in the frontline were recorded. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian forces unsuccessfully attacked using one tank and two IFVs near Novyi Shlyakh (south of Glushkovo). However, this information was not confirmed by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Kharkiv Oblast
Russian forces continued offensive operations in the north of Kharkiv Oblast on October 25 but did not achieve success. In particular, Russian forces continued ground attacks in the areas of Vovchansk and Starytsia (southwest of Vovchansk) on October 24 and 25.
Luhansk Oblast
Russian forces continued offensive operations along the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line on October 25, but specific changes in the frontline were not recorded.
Several Russian sources reported gradual advances of Russian forces in the Stelmakhivka area and control of a "large part" of Kruglyakivka (south of Kupyansk). However, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) found no confirmation of these reports.
Donetsk Oblast
Russian forces advanced east of Siversk. Geolocated footage published on October 16 indicates the advance of Russian forces southwest of Verkhniokamianka (east of Siversk) during a Russian mechanized attack.
However, Ukrainian forces regained their positions near Chasiv Yar amid Russian offensive operations in the area on October 25. According to geolocated images published on October 24, Ukrainian forces are operating southeast of Chasiv Yar at Block 9 mine, where Russian forces had previously been observed. This indicates that Ukrainian forces recently regained their positions in this area.
Ukrainian forces also regained their positions in southern Toretsk. Geolocated footage published on October 25 indicates the actions of Ukrainian forces along Tobolenko Street in southern Toretsk, where Russian advances had previously been recorded. This indicates that Ukrainian forces recently regained their positions in this area.
Russian forces continued offensive operations east of Kurakhove on October 25, but no changes in the frontline in the area were recorded.
Russian forces also continued offensive operations southeast of Donetsk on October 25, but no specific changes in the frontline were recorded. Russian forces also continued offensive operations northeast of Vuhledar in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Katerynivka, Antonivka, and Vodiane, as well as north of Vuhledar in the areas of Novoukrainka and Bohojavlenka on October 24 and 25.
No activity by Russian forces was recorded on the border between Donetsk and Zaporizhia oblasts on October 25.
“Southern Axis”
Russian forces continued their offensive in the west of Zaporizhia Oblast northeast of Robotyne in the area of Novoandriivka and north of Robotyne towards Novodanilivka on October 24 and 25. However, no specific changes in the frontline were recorded.
Note that the enemy conducted a missile strike, using one missile, carried out more than 70 airstrikes, utilizing 106 FABs, more than 600 kamikaze drone strikes, and conducted about 3000 shellings of our troops and settlements with various types of weapons during the last day.
