Ukraine has completely stopped using Russian nuclear fuel, reports the company 'Energoatom'.
Procurement has been exclusively from the American company Westinghouse since 2022. Units №3 and №4 of the Khmelnytskyi NPP will operate only on fuel from the American company Westinghouse or on fuel produced in Ukraine using their technology, as will all other operating nuclear units', the company noted.
This is also stipulated in government bill №11146 - units №3 and №4 of the Khmelnytskyi NPP will operate exclusively on nuclear fuel made using American technology.
'Energoatom's' comment was provided in response to fake news spread by Olha Kosharnaya - an 'expert' who, at the beginning of the war, called on employees of the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP to sign contracts with 'Rosatom'.
'We urge competent authorities to pay attention to the systematic negative work of the 'expert', aimed at discrediting Ukrainian energy workers and nuclear specialists', they emphasized at 'Energoatom'.
