Energoatom responded to information about an "accident" at the South Ukraine NPP.

Energoatom denies information about an accident at the South Ukraine NPP in the Mykolaiv region, reports “Khvylya”. The company's press service stated that this information is false. Instead, Energoatom stated that remarks were identified in the operation of one of the plant's power units, and it was unloaded to 33% of its nominal capacity. After the remarks are addressed, the power unit will be returned to operation. The company also noted that this situation is not related to the repair campaign, but arose due to complex transitional modes caused by shelling of the Ukrenergo infrastructure. These shellings were accompanied by significant fluctuations in network parameters, which led to the disconnection of the power units from the network.
According to Oleksandr Kharchenko, director of the Energy Research Center, one of the power units at the South Ukraine NPP failed and reduced electricity output. He also predicts that this unit may be turned off for repairs next week.
