The Washington Post: USA against UAF strike on Kerch bridge.
The Washington Post national security columnist David Ignatius shared interesting details about the situation in Ukraine and the US position.
Ignatius reported that in the fall of 2022, the threat of Russia using nuclear weapons was very high. At that time, when Russian troops were suffering defeats in Kharkiv and Kherson, CIA analysts believed that the likelihood of Russia using tactical nuclear weapons was 50/50.
Ignatius also stated that the US is against Ukraine's strike on the Kerch bridge, but did not disclose the reasons for this position.
The journalist expressed dissatisfaction with the US policy towards Russia, stating that sanctions against Russia remain too weak. He also noted that diplomatic ties between the countries have weakened.
Ignatius expressed cautious optimism about the future conflict in Ukraine and hopes for negotiations in the future. However, he emphasized that the situation will remain tense in the next few months.
