Yermak and Witkoff recorded the positions of the USA and Ukraine regarding the war.

Important meeting of Ukrainian representatives with American diplomat
On August 29, Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, and Serhiy Kyslytsia, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, held a meeting with the special representative of the US president for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff. This meeting is highly significant as Witkoff regularly visits Russia and negotiates with the Kremlin. Dialogue between Ukraine and the USA can help better understand the positions of both countries. This was reported by Mikhail Podolyak, advisor to the head of the Office of the President, on the FREEДОМ television channel.
Results of the meeting
Podolyak believes that during the meeting it was possible to consolidate the positions of Ukraine and the USA.
'At such a meeting, it is always said: let's set aside the position of the third party, in this case, Russia, and let's record our positions. And at such meetings, including with Witkoff, the positions of the parties are recorded,' Podolyak noted.
He also added that the issue of a ceasefire may be discussed, but territorial aspects can only be considered during negotiations with the Russian side.
'From the United States, Mr. Witkoff has recorded a position of non-interference in territorial issues and the readiness of the USA to consider participation in certain security guarantees. The lion's share of these guarantees will be taken on by European countries, but nevertheless, the presence of the USA is equally necessary. This includes intelligence data, diplomatic work, sanctions, and work in the air, as stated by our European colleagues. This also involves ensuring military production at this transitional stage while Europe is just beginning to ramp up all military production. Therefore, of course, meetings at the level of key stakeholders, and Witkoff is clearly a key stakeholder in ending this war, he is authorized by President Trump, are extremely important,' the advisor to the head of the Office of the President emphasized.
It should be noted that on August 29, Yermak and Kyslytsia met in New York with the special representative of the US president, Steve Witkoff.
Such meetings indicate a constant dialogue between Ukraine and the USA, which is especially important in the current political situation. This can assist Ukraine in forming international support and ensuring stability in the region. Joint work on security and military cooperation also remains a priority for both countries.
