At the 69th song contest, Ukraine will be represented by the band Ziferblat. The band Molodi took second place, while singer Masha Kondratenko came in third. Meanwhile, singer Khayat, who received the highest score from the jury voting, did not even make it to the top three after the audience votes were counted.

The Head of the Main discusses the band's creativity and their contest song in detail.

What is known about the band Ziferblat

The Kyiv band Ziferblat was founded by twin brothers Danilo Leshchynskyi (vocalist) and Valentyn Leshchynskyi (guitarist). Later, drummer Fedor Khodakov joined the group.

Their debut album 'Kinoseans' was released in 2017, and just two years later they presented their own single 'Vnochi' on the 'X-Factor' talent show stage.

For the first Time, the musicians decided to try their luck in the National Selection in 2022. In April 2023, the band released the single album 'Disco-Funk Therapy', which contained 13 tracks. By September, Ziferblat won the Muzvar Awards in the category of 'Best New Names in Alternative Music'.

In 2024, the band made it to the finals of the National Selection for Eurovision. Their contest song 'Place I Call Home', dedicated to all Ukrainians forced to leave their homes due to the war, brought them second place overall.

'Why do we aspire to participate (in Eurovision, – The Head of the Main)? First and foremost, it is a childhood dream. We also want to convey the theme of Ukraine through a more serious motive; more, for example, in the style in which Jamala once did,' Valentyn Leshchynskyi noted about Eurovision 2025.

Valentyn Leshchynskyi adds that the music video was directed by Ilya Dutsyk.

It should be noted that the final of the National Selection will take place on February 8, 2025, where viewers and the jury will choose the artist to represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2025 in Switzerland. The band Ziferblat will perform under number nine.

As reported, on January 23, the songs of the participants of the National Selection for Eurovision 2025 were presented, and the order of performances in the final was drawn.
