A new video of the plane crash involving the South Korean airline Jeju Air has appeared online. The plane was returning from Bangkok and during landing at Muan Airport, it went off the runway and crashed into a fence.

The accident occurred on December 29 at 9:07 AM local Time. Two crew members survived, while 179 people died. Most of the passengers were South Korean citizens, and two were citizens of Thailand.

The plane is nearly completely destroyed. Only the charred tail section remains. There are suggestions that the cause of the crash was a bird strike or a landing gear malfunction. A call was made to the control tower to avoid a bird strike, but the plane still hit navigational equipment and crashed into the fence. Bad weather is also being considered as a potential cause of the accident.

The head of Jeju Air claims that the accident is not related to maintenance issues. Aviation expert David Leermount states that the main cause of the accident was the concrete wall at the end of the airport, which led to fatalities.

Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the crash. The acting president of the country has ordered all efforts to be made for rescue operations.

Let us recall that in recent days, other air accidents have occurred. An Air Canada plane made an emergency landing due to landing gear failure, and a plane from Baku to Grozny crashed in Aktau.
