A sharp cold snap is approaching Ukraine: Didenko said where temperatures will drop to -9 degrees.
Cold weather with decreasing temperatures is expected
In the coming days, cold weather with decreasing temperatures is expected in Ukraine. Already tonight, the temperature will drop to -2-5 degrees, remaining slightly warmer in the southeast. On Saturday, January 4, temperatures in the western and northern regions are expected to range from -1 to -3 degrees, while in the central and eastern regions, temperatures will fluctuate from one degree of frost to two degrees above zero, and in the south, temperatures will be from +2 to +7 degrees. Periodic wet snow is forecasted across the country, with possible rain in the south.
Stormy weather with strong winds and wet snow
Particular attention should be paid to the heavy stormy weather, with strong westerly and northwestern winds. This may lead to a noticeable drop in temperature to -5-8 degrees. Stormy gusts of wind and periodic wet snow are also expected in Kyiv. The temperature in the capital will be -1-3 degrees at night and about one degree of frost during the day. On Sunday, no significant precipitation is expected, but nighttime temperatures will reach -4-7 degrees of frost, and during the day will be from 0 to -2 degrees of frost.
Decrease in temperature and precipitation
Further temperature decrease is forecasted on Sunday night, from -4 to -9 degrees across the country, with daytime temperatures on January 5 ranging from 0 to -3 degrees, while in the south, temperatures will be from 0 to +3 degrees. Significant precipitation is expected only in the Carpathians and Transcarpathia.
Temporary warming and a new cold wave
From January 6, temporary warming is expected, which will last until January 10. After that, from January 11, a new wave of cold is anticipated.
