In Odesa Region, the organizers of the scheme for the illegal transportation of conscripts were arrested: what threatens them
Residents of Odesa and Donetsk regions organized a scheme for the illegal transportation of men to Moldova. However, law enforcement officials detained them along with their clients at the border; the perpetrators face up to 9 years in prison.

The scheme was organized by a 45-year-old resident of Odesa region together with a 44-year-old native of Donetsk without a permanent place of residence. According to their plan, they were to illegally transport seven conscripted men from 5 different regions to Moldova.

At the same Time, the native of Donetsk himself planned to leave Ukraine along with the clients. The police documented how he gathered all interested parties in Odesa, after which his local accomplice took everyone to the Ruzhyn district to the border for 5,000 hryvnias. There, they were stopped by the police together with the border guards.

What punishment awaits

The transporters have been notified of suspicion under Part 2 and Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine, by providing means, advice, and instructions, committed by a group of persons by prior agreement). They face 7 to 9 years with confiscation of property.

The conscripts received protocols under Article 204-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (attempted illegal crossing of the border). They face up to 8,500 hryvnias in fines or 15 days of arrest.

As a result of the operations carried out, law enforcement officials uncovered and stopped the activities of criminals engaged in the illegal transportation of persons across the state border. They face serious penalties under current legislation, including imprisonment and confiscation of property. Security services continue the fight against such violations and urge citizens to abide by the law.
