Ukraine returned 150 defenders from Russian captivity.
Ukraine has freed 150 soldiers who were in captivity in Russia, announced President Volodymyr Zelensky. Among them were representatives of various military forces, national guardsmen, border guards, territorial defense fighters, and police officers. These fighters were held captive in various sections of the frontline. 'We are very happy to see them home, alive and free,' wrote the president.

Information about the exchange of prisoners of war has been removed from the pages of the president and the head of the president's office.
We remind you that Ukraine and Russia conducted an exchange of prisoners of war on January 15. 25 Ukrainian defenders were returned home thanks to the support of the United Arab Emirates.
The freed servicemen are soldiers, sailors, and sergeants who fought in the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk directions, and in the city of Mariupol. Among them is one civilian who was captured in Kyiv region and held by the Russians. Servicemen from the National Guard, Armed Forces, Naval Forces, and State Border Guard Service of Ukraine have returned home and are receiving treatment and rehabilitation.
Earlier, on December 30, 2024, Ukraine returned 189 Ukrainians from Russian captivity, among whom were soldiers, sergeants, officers of the National Guard, border guards, territorial defense fighters, representatives of the Naval Forces and Armed Forces, as well as two civilians who were captured in Mariupol.
