Drivers Explained Whether It Is Possible to Drive in Ukraine with European Driving Licenses.

Most countries that signed the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic recognize Ukrainian driving licenses, but the rules for their use differ. This is especially important for those who plan to travel abroad or live in other countries.
In Ukraine, there are clear rules for using European licenses. They can be used if they comply with the requirements of the Vienna Convention. If you plan to reside abroad for more than 60 days, you need to exchange them for Ukrainian licenses.
In many European Union countries, Ukrainian licenses are valid for short trips. However, in non-EU countries, it is recommended or required to have an international driving permit.
Special rules apply in the USA and the United Kingdom. In the USA, Ukrainian licenses are recognized for trips lasting from 3 to 6 months, and in the United Kingdom, they are valid during the first year of residence.
To obtain an international driving permit in Ukraine, you need to contact the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with valid Ukrainian driving licenses, a passport, identification code, and a photograph. The processing fee is 300-400 hryvnias and takes from a few hours to one working day. The international permit is valid for up to three years or until the expiration of the national permit.
The new model Ukrainian licenses comply with the requirements of the Vienna Convention and are recognized in many countries around the world. They have a plastic format and contain information in several languages and security features.
According to the new changes, Ukrainian driver's licenses will become temporary documents with a validity of 10-15 years, depending on the type of transport.
To restore your license after revocation, you need to undergo a medical examination and pass theoretical and practical exams at the Ministry of Internal Affairs service center. If you have changed your last name or patronymic, you will need to update your driver's license within 10 days.
