Defending Ukraine as part of the 'Mahura' Brigade. Let’s remember Yuriy Desiatniuk.
Every day at 9 a.m. Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember Yuriy Desiatniuk.
On Tuesday, December 31, Lviv said goodbye to Ukrainian fighter Yuriy Desiatniuk (call sign Grandpa), who was killed by the occupiers while defending Ukraine. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.
Yuriy Desiatniuk was born on August 20, 1979, in Lviv. He studied at Lyceum No. 5 named after Ivanna and Illia Kokorudziv. He obtained an education at Vocational School No. 56 and then entered Vocational College No. 29.
From 2018 to 2020, he worked at 'Zakhid-Holding', and from 2020 he worked at 'Ohronnyi Holding-Zakhid'. He directly participated in the establishment of security systems at several airports in Ukraine.
In his free Time, he was passionate about tourism and electronics and loved animals.
Senior Soldier
With the onset of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he voluntarily took up the defense of the state from the invaders as part of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade 'Mahura' of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The defender's life was cut short on September 17, 2023, when Yuriy Desiatniuk was carrying out a combat mission in the southern front direction to protect the independence and territorial integrity of our state.
The funeral ceremony for the defender took place on the last day of 2024, December 31, at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul. The warrior was buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.
'Hlavkom' joins in a moment of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died in the fight for their homeland. We remember those killed by Russian invaders, light candles of memory, and bow our heads in sorrow during the nationwide moment of silence, honoring the bright memory of citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military, civilians, and children, all who died in the struggle against Russian occupiers and as a result of the attack of hostile troops on Ukrainian cities and villages.
