Over 63,000 Ukrainian Soldiers Trained in the Netherlands as Interflex Mission Reaches New Phase.
The Interflex Operation and Its Impact
According to Espreso.tv: The Dutch Ministry of Defense has announced a new chapter in Operation Interflex, a program designed to train Ukraine’s armed forces. Over the past four years, more than 63,000 Ukrainian troops have been trained under this initiative. Operation Interflex was launched shortly after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, marking a swift international response to the escalating conflict.
Global Collaboration and Training Details
Military personnel from 14 countries, including Dutch instructors, have contributed to the training efforts. In total, roughly 11,000 instructors have participated in the program. Last week, the United Kingdom commemorated four years of international cooperation under this initiative. Notably, the Netherlands’ 13th Light Brigade played a key role in the final basic training courses, highlighting the enduring global commitment to supporting Ukraine during this challenging period.
The training for Ukrainian forces covered marksmanship, medical care, and the laws of war. Since January 2023, it has been reported that over 62,000 Ukrainian service members had already been trained in the UK as part of Operation Interflex starting in 2022. Additionally, the Netherlands continues to contribute to Ukrainian soldier training through the European Union Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM), underscoring the long-term dedication of the international community to regional security.
Operation Interflex stands as a critical pillar of international support for Ukraine amid its conflict with Russia, offering not only military instruction but also strengthening the defensive capabilities of Ukraine’s armed forces.
The involvement of instructors from diverse nations reflects the unity of the global community in backing Ukraine, a key factor in fostering stability in the region. The continuation of such cooperative programs demonstrates the commitment of Ukraine’s partners to sustain its fight for independence and territorial integrity.
