ADHD diagnosis

Annie Lennox, a member of the Eurythmics, shared details of her ADHD diagnosis, which was determined after testing.

The singer, known for the hit 'No More I Love Yous', admitted during an appearance on Radio 4's “Women’s Hour”:

“I’m a magpie, I observe things, I’m extremely sensitive.”

“I found out that I’m actually a bit neurodiverse. This explained a lot about how my mind works and how the minds of other people with ADHD work.”

She also added:

“It’s not just burdensome, but it’s also a superpower. I think it brings genius – I’m not saying I’m genius, but I’ll take it!”

Annie, whose career began in the band The Tourist and Eurythmics alongside Dave Stewart, noted:

“For most of my life, I’ve sought genius, let’s say, through music, through language, lyrics, performance, all that.”

The ADHD diagnosis is often given in childhood, accompanied by symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.

Global issues

In addition to her own health concerns, Annie addresses global issues.

The mother of two plans to release a re-recording of her hit 'Why?', which first appeared in 1992, to support the charity initiative Together for Palestine.

She told host Nuala McGovern:

“I just want the war to end. Politicians need to engage in dialogue and avoid conflict.”

“We all know that war is the most horrible destructive force on the planet, but I just want peace.”
