This saint is one of the outstanding Christian martyrs of the 4th century, honored in both the Orthodox and Catholic churches for his dedication to his faith and fearlessness in suffering. Polyuctus became a Christian at a time when the Roman Empire actively persecuted believers. He lived during the reign of Emperor Diocletian (284–305), known for his brutal persecutions of Christians. According to tradition, the saint was repeatedly urged to renounce his faith and worship Roman gods, but Polyuctus resolutely rejected these demands, emphasizing his steadfastness in faith.

His martyrdom became an example of courage: the saint was subjected to torture and cruel trials, yet he remained faithful to Christ until his last breath. Ultimately, Polyuctus was executed by order of the Roman authorities, and his martyr's death occurred around the beginning of the 4th century.
