Jockey Crisis for Aidan O'Brien

According to The Sun: Aidan O'Brien has found himself in a difficult situation with jockeys ahead of one of the busiest periods of the season, when millions of pounds are at stake in horse racing.

His second jockey Wayne Lordan has been banned from all races over the weekend when St Leger and Irish Champions will take place, for breaching whip use rules.

Lordan, who won the Derby with Lambourn and was close to success at the Oaks with Uhtil, received a ten-day ban and a fine of £1,250.

The violation occurred three times: the jockey used the whip in an unauthorized place during the winning race on Precision in Group 3 at Goodwood last week.

Lordan's ban is in effect from September 9 to September 18.

Last season he finished second at St Leger in Illinois.

Sean Levy won the race on the horse Jan Brueghel, trained by O'Brien, in this prestigious Group 1.

Gavin Ryan on Grosvenor Square, O'Brien's third horse, finished fifth in the race with a prize fund of £420,000 for the winner.

Big races are scheduled for September 12-14, and it is likely that Ryan Moore, O'Brien's main jockey and Coolmore, will also have to miss Doncaster.

As O'Brien's main jockey, he is needed at Leopardstown on Saturday – the same day as St Leger – to ride Delacroix in the decisive race with Ombudsman at the Irish Champion Stakes.

Due to the absence of Moore and Lordan, Levy may get a chance to ride the ante-post favorite Scandinavia.

Levy's ban ends on September 12 – a day before St Leger.

If all goes well, Lambourn may be left without a jockey for the important race.

A specialist at distances of 1m 4f, Lambourn, who did not perform well at Grey Voltageur in York, may still compete at St Leger, according to his trainer.

O'Brien does not hesitate to bring in different jockeys for his leading horses this season. Among the jockeys who recently rode for him are Dylan Brown McMonagle, Ben Cohen, and Ryan.

The situation with jockeys for Aidan O'Brien could significantly impact his strategies in the upcoming races as the competition grows, and results depend not only on the horses but also on the skill of the jockeys. During this tense time, the trainer is forced to look for new options to prepare his participants for future competitions, making crucial decisions for success on the racecourse.
