According to ТСН: Stable 3–4 rotations of electricity outages may last a long time if new generation is not increased.

Energy expert Hennadiy Ryabtsev notes: 'Three to four rotations of outages. We will be dealing with this for quite a while. 12–16 hours without electricity.'

Ways to reduce outages

Ryabtsev is confident that electricity outages can only be reduced through systemic solutions. This involves encouraging businesses to connect their own generation to the energy system and addressing the issue of debts in the energy market. 'We can reduce not by redistributing existing capacities, as they will decrease if we do not increase them with new generation. For this, we need to do our 'homework.' First of all, we need to involve economic entities in installing energy installations not only for their own needs but also for connecting them to the united energy system. Then the capacity will increase. Secondly, it is necessary to resolve the issue of mutual indebtedness in energy markets. This will free up funds, including for the purchase of new equipment.'

Necessary changes in consumer protection

The expert also called for a review of the list of protected consumers, leaving only critical infrastructure in it. 'We need to ensure that our list of protected consumers includes only critical infrastructure enterprises, not circuses, theaters, and fitness centers.'

Ryabtsev expressed outrage that the Verkhovna Rada has still not canceled VAT and import duties on energy equipment.

A state of emergency of national level has been declared in Odesa region.

Despite significant achievements in restoring electricity supply in Odesa region, thousands of consumers are still waiting for electricity supply in their homes.

Thus, the situation with electricity supply remains tense. Experts call for urgent changes in the energy supply policy to reduce the number of outages and ensure stability in the energy system. Implementing their recommendations could positively impact the lives of thousands of Ukrainians suffering from prolonged power outages.
