Ilya Zabarnyi officially became a player of PSG: the first Ukrainian in the Parisian giant's squad.
Ukrainian defender Ilya Zabarnyi signed a five-year contract with the French 'PSG', becoming the first Ukrainian to play for this club. Dynamo President Igor Surkis commented on this event and expressed his wishes for the athlete.
The head of 'Dynamo' emphasized that this transfer is the result of Zabarnyi's hard work and high professionalism. Surkis also noted that the Ukrainian has always been a model player and continues to make the club proud.
What Surkis said about Zabarnyi
Surkis reminded that Zabarnyi distinguished himself with character and dedication in training, which allowed him to make a successful journey from a Ukrainian club to international competitions.
'Ilya, on behalf of all of 'Dynamo', I sincerely congratulate you on your move to 'PSG'. You have become the first Ukrainian in the championship team of the Champions League — this is a great achievement. You will bring stability, strength, and trophies to Paris, and we are proud of your accomplishments.' — he stated.
From the sale of Zabarnyi, 'Dynamo' will receive at least 10 million euros, which is 20% of the difference in the transfer value between 'PSG' and 'Bournemouth'. There may also be an additional solidarity payment, raising the total amount to over 16.75 million euros.
Ukrainian football has lost an outstanding player, but has gained financial benefits from his transfer, which will contribute to the further development of the sport in the country.
